Saint Skin, a film written and directed by Ricardo Flores, is an experimental short inspired by a collection of poetry written by Flores. As a thesis film for his studies at Santa Monica College. The film explores masculinity, desire, morality, spirituality, and the body as a site of both violence and liberation. Through fragmented images, memory, ritual, and movement, Saint Skin follows a young artist confronting the forces that have taught him how to inhabit his own skin—and his attempt to reclaim it as something sacred.
