“Red”

the water runs clear. the head runs red.

he wakes up with fresh blood on his hands and runs straight into the daylight to put distance between himself and what he's done. but the streets are empty, nobody is chasing him, and every direction leads right back to his own bathroom mirror. standing under the shower, watching the red-tainted water circle down the drain, he's stuck in a cold cycle of panic, blood, and doing it all over again.
